LGBTQ women’s clubs are a great way for women to connect and share experiences, offer support, communicate, and make new friends. In a couple steps, you, too can have an LGBTQ women’s group.
Steps
1Decide what the purpose of the group will be. While there are a million ways for us to connect through shared beliefs and interests, you should focus on one main goal for your organization. You can make it easy for your community to choose to be a part of particular types of talks, to be influenced by those ideas, and to be near individuals who are also interested in this issue by defining the direction of your group.XFor example, do you want to encourage LGBTQ women, or provide resources for them? Determine what the purpose of the club will be.
2Name your club. Choose a name that reflects the mission of your club. You don’t want you to waste too much time here. We enjoy getting caught up in the process of coming up with the perfect name, designing a stunning logo, and imagining what our “brand” will look like. Move forward with a name that works. It doesn’t have to be perfect, and you can make changes as needed.XYou should make it easy for your community to choose to be a part of particular types of talks, to be influenced by those ideas, and to be near individuals who are also interested in this issue by defining the direction of your group.X
3Select a few activities you can do with your group. You’ll need a few things to do during your first meeting(s) to get started. You don’t need a million ideas, conversation starters will do. Remember that the leader isn’t the center of attention in an LGBTQ women’s group. Instead, you form a bond by sharing experiences, lessons, and offering assistance to one another.X
4Select the location of your women’s group. There are a variety of strategies to grow your women’s organization, but the most essential thing to remember is that you must begin somewhere.X
5Find new ways to grow and support your LGBTQ women’s club. You’ll learn what activities work best for your group and what themes are most popular as you continue to hold events (either online or in person) for them. This knowledge of your community will enable you to personalize the experience to their needs and provide additional resources to help them flourish more quickly. Women’s organizations allow women from various backgrounds to join together and encourage one another as they travel through life.XCreating one in your neighborhood will enable you to connect with the people in your community and form life-changing relationships.X
