If you are the owner of a Microsoft Team, you have the ability to add guests, or people outside your organization that you want to collaborate with. Guests must have their own Microsoft accounts and Team administrators must enable guest access before guests can join. This wikiHow will teach you how to add guests in Microsoft Teams using Windows or macOS.

Steps

1Open Microsoft Teams. You’ll find this application in your Start menu or in the Applications folder in Finder. You can also use the web app at https://teams.microsoft.com.

2Click Teams. It’s next to an icon of a group of people in the vertical menu on the left side of the application window.X

3Click ••• next to the Team you want to add the guest to. Make sure you don’t click the three-dot menu next to the wrong Team.

4Click Add Member. A new dialog box will pop up.

5Enter your guest’s email address. You can enter any email address here; it does not need to be a Microsoft email account.

6Click the suggestion to add that email as a guest. If you see a warning that says, “We didn’t find any matches,” your organization has not enabled guest access. The guest’s name will be taken from the email address provided. For example, if you invite [email protected], she will display the name “janedoe2512345.” To change this, click the pencil icon, enter her name (Jane Doe), and click the checkmark.

7Click Add. They will get an email that they have been invited as a guest to your Team and can click the Open Microsoft Teams box to join the Team and get started.XTrustworthy SourceMicrosoft SupportTechnical support and product information from Microsoft.Go to source
